The yarn is Cascade Bollicine Maxi - a very inexpensive, machine washable yarn from Webs - but very nice to knit with. Yup - the blanket measures 32" X 32" but I am sure it will grow a little with blocking. Part of me wants to soak it in the sink, my usual method...and another part of me wants to see what happens when it is machine washed...too many decisions...
