While You Were Sleeping........ Last night, for no apparent reason, I lost power at 11:15 p.m......and it came back on at 5:10 a.m. Most people would just go to sleep...but not me....I was wide awake....waiting for the power to come back on. Decided to knit Icarus by candlelight......and spin. Two hours.....and quite a bit of wine later....I had a pretty full bobbin....I'm thinking if power goes out tonight....I am all set to ply.

September 17th....Happy Birthday, Joanie!! What an exciting year it has been so far!! Fiber In Purchases - Susan's Spinning Bunny: "Golden Sunset" Mulberry Silk..... "Clematis" Alpaca/Merino/Silk....I envision a shawl.........
"Fruit Salad" Targhee....I loved spinning up the samples of the targhee....and I am not even sure if the fiber is appropriate for socks, however, if I knit them tight enough and wear them only on spinning days, they should be just fine. I am usually not an orange person but I knew I had to have it!

Florida Fiber In.... Rhonda, taking a break from selling her beautiful wares.....
"Hi, Dale!"
Michelle, happily spending a little time behind the wheel...
Diane, working on yet another beautiful pair of socks....
Rhonda's husband, Jerry, popped in to see how things were going.
It is estimated ~60 knitters converged on the Radisson to knit, spin, shop and do what they do best. Thank you to all the organizers who worked so hard to make this event possible!

We have......................sock labels! When I contemplated making sock labels in lieu of simply wrapping them, I knew I had to incorporate Gregg's "Chip 'n for Dale" cartoon design.
They both should get a kick out of it!

Peacock is coming along beautifully and is absolutely gorgeous.......but.......here is an invaluable knitting tip.....When knitting a shawl (404 stitches/row and on row 202 of 224) and you see a huge-ass hole (even though you've been counting stitches between markers every 24-stitch repeat) and are forced to unknit ....use a size 2 Inox circular needle...Unknitting 4 rows took 3 hours which is a whole lot better than starting over for the 4th time. This shawl appears to be jinxed....When I knit this pattern for the first time last March, Sophie jumped in the middle of my lap and all the stitches went flying off the needles. I was up to row 185 of 224. I didn't even attempt to fix it - just ripped it out. When I decided to knit this shawl again, in June, I was making great progress when I noticed an error way down in the shawl. I was up to row 187. An anal perfectionist, I didn't attempt to fix it - I started it over and was moving at a quick pace when I made the abovementioned mistake. The pattern isn't difficult but you do have to concentrate. Apparently, this is a problem for me ; ) I'm thinking a few beers may help relax me while I knit...it certainly can't hurt.
